21 Texas A&M-Commerce Student-Athletes Receive Recognition from Division II Athletic Directors Association
The Division II Athletics Directors
Association (DII ADA) announced on Tuesday that 21 Texas A&M
University-Commerce student-athletes for 2009-10 were recipients of
the DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards presented by
WeatherPORT.
Earning recognition were Logan Kelly,
Robert Reed, Tyler Tyndell and
Brandon Womack from men’s cross
country/track and field; Ron Balthazar,
Anthony Valle and Kyle Weaver
from men’s track and field; Jamie Hays from
women’s cross country; T.J. Nielsen from
football; Malonie Oats from women’s golf;
Lacy Alexander, Jennifer
Alvarado, Taylor Cabler, Courtney
Coch, Taylor Jordan, Randi
Hafele, Devon Herrman and
Jordan McCarty from women’s soccer,
Lauren Flynn, Alyssa Oberle and
Rachael Shelton from volleyball.
The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the
academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II
level. In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic
Achievement Award, the athletics director of the Division II
institution MUST BE a CURRENT dues paying member of the DII ADA.
Also, the student-athlete must:
* have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0
scale
* have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college
level work
* have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during
his/her last academic year.
