A&M-Commerce Student-Athletes and Coaches Hear the Story of Sarah Panzau

Texas A&M University-Commerce student-athletes and coaches heard the story of Sarah Panzau, a former two-time All-American volleyball player, who was in a near fatal car accident discuss drug and alcohol awareness and why responsibility matters on Thursday night.

The speech by Panzau had a significant impact on the guests including sophomore men’s basketball player Esteban Arriola. “It is an amazing story. She is a very strong minded and positive woman, I respect and appreciate the courage that she has to stand up and tell her story to strangers. Just like the title of your presentation ‘Living Proof.’ She is right when she says that no matter how bad a situation can get, there is a positive in there someway and that your family will never leave your side,” noted the Edinburg, Texas native.

Panzau came to A&M-Commerce as part of the speakers bureau associated with Ben E. Keith Beverage Distributors, who is committed to being part of the solution to drunk driving, underage drinking, alcohol abuse and other alcohol related issues.
