Texas A&M University-Commerce Holds Harvey Martin Classic Luncheon

As part of last week's activities for the Harvey Martin Classic, the athletic department held a luncheon at the Westin City Center Hotel on Thursday, August 10th.

Donovan Lewis, an alumnus of A&M-Commerce and sports personality on The Ticket, served as the emcee. Three individuals with close ties to Harvey Martin - Rayfield Wright, Dudley Slice and Drew Pearson - all were involved with the luncheon and shared many heartfelt remarks about their former teammate.

Slice, a teammate of Harvey Martin in 1971 and 1972 at East Texas State and Wright, who served as the keynote speaker and teammate of Martin with the Cowboys from 1973 to 1979, both took part in a question and answer session with Dallas Morning News sports columnist Jean Jacques-Taylor. Pearson, a former member of the Dallas Cowboys from 1973 to 1983, provided the closing remarks.
