Three Lions Earn Academic Recognition from Lone Star Conference

Three members of the Texas A&M
University-Commerce men's cross country team, Tyler
Tyndell, Logan Kelly and Brandon
Womack, earned academic recognition from the Lone Star
Conference on Friday.
Tyndell, a junior from Paris, was named to the LSC All-Academic
Team along with Abilene Christian's Julius Nyango, East Central's
John Sutrick and Daniel Kiptoo and Eastern New Mexico's Jacob
Wiklund. Nyango was selected as the conference's Academic Runner of
the Year.
Kelly, a junior from Van Alstyne and Womack, a sophomore from Lone
Oak, were both selected to the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The
league’s sports information directors vote upon the
All-Academic teams. To be eligible for both the Honor Roll and the
All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 cumulative
grade point average.
All the runners will compete in the LSC Cross Country
Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Kingsville, Texas.
