Tyler Tyndell Qualifies for NCAA Championship; Men Finish Fifth Overall at NCAA South Central Regional Meet

Texas A&M University-Commerce junior Tyler Tyndell finished fifth at the NCAA South Central Regional meet on Saturday morning to secure a spot at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 22.
The top four places were taken by Lone Star Conference member Abilene Christian, who won the team title for the eighth time in nine years. Behind ACU was three MIAA schools - Missouri Southern, Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist and the Lions in fifth-place honors to round out the top five. The Lions finished ahead of No. 5 Fort Hays State and No. 6 Tarleton State in the latest USTFCCCA South Central regional rankings.
Tyndell covered the 10k course at the Live Oak City Park in San Antonio in a time of 31:09.6 to lead the Lions to a fifth-place finish. Behind Tyndell was junior Robert Reed, who also earned all-region honors with a 13th-place finish in 32:01.5. Freshman Cody Hughes was the seventh freshman to cross the line in 32nd place (32:50), junior Gerardo Delafuente was 41st (33:17) and sophomore Brandon Womack was 63rd (33:39) to round out the Lions top five. Logan Kelly and Ray Moreno was 109th (35:36) and 134th (38:10), respectively.
Sophomore Kate Donovan
represented the Lions women's team and was 62nd with a 6k time of
24:05.8.
