Prior to A&M-Commerce: Named the WLAC Co-Male Athlete of the Year as a sophomore...set the school record at West Los Angeles College in the 10,000-meter run at the Western State Conference Championships en route to first team all-conference honors...qualified for the state meet in the 5,000-meter run...won a district title as a senior at Gahr High School, breaking the record by 29 seconds...a two-year letterwinner on the track and field team and lettered as a senior on the cross country team.
