Get Your Tickets For The LSC Basketball Championship Now

All-session tickets are now available for the 2009 Lone Star Conference Basketball Championship to be played in Bartlesville, Okla.

The tournament will feature eight women’s and eight men’s teams and is scheduled for a thrilling five-day run from March 4-8 at Bartlesville’s Bruin Field House.

Advance ticket sales are being offered at the athletic ticket office on the campus of all LSC member institutions, making it easy for fans to join their favorite team on “The Road to Bartlesville”. All-session tickets are only $35 in advance, a $20 savings off the regular price.  Additionally, those who purchase the all-session tickets in advance also will receive a free LSC championship t-shirt customized for their favorite team, as well as a coupon book worth up to $200 in savings while in Bartlesville. Advance ticket sales run through Wednesday, February 25.

“We’ve really tried to make it both easy and affordable for fans to get their tickets this year,” LSC Commissioner Stan Wagnon said. “By purchasing their tickets in advance, fans will not only realize a great savings off the regular price, but they’ll also get a very attractive t-shirt to help show their school spirit and a valuable coupon book to help keep their travel costs down.”

Those who don’t take advantage of the advance ticket prices can buy tickets at the Bruin Field House ticket gate, where regular prices will be $55 for an all-session pass or $12 for a single-session ticket. The tournament is divided into eight sessions over five days.

Tournament action starts with women’s first-round games on Wednesday, March 4, while men’s first-round action begins Thursday, March 5. Women’s semifinals will be played Friday, March 6. On Saturday, March 7, fans can see men’s semifinals played in the afternoon and the women’s championship that night. The festivities conclude Sunday afternoon, March 8, with the men’s championship game.

The LSC is using a predetermined tournament site for the second time after a successful event in 2008, and Bartlesville’s Bruin Field House is the first host facility in a truly neutral location. The 2009 tournament marks the second of a three-year stay in Bartlesville as the Bartlesville Sports Commission has agreed to serve as the host agency through 2010.

Bruin Field House, an award-winning $5.5 million facility that opened in December 2006, seats about 2,300 fans, including more than 1,100 chairback seats. The facility features a spacious two-story lobby and an innovative crowd control design, in which the lower level is accessible to players, coaches and authorized personnel only while spectators enter the facility from above. Fans and participants alike will enjoy the arena’s state-of-the-art auxiliary areas: concessions, merchandising and hospitality areas that overlook the playing court, locker rooms equipped with game clocks and film theaters, plus a spacious training room with all the latest treatment capabilities.

One of the premier conferences in NCAA Division II basketball, the LSC consists of 15 member institutions including eight in Texas, six in Oklahoma and one in New Mexico. In basketball, the membership is split into North and South Divisions. North Division members are Cameron, Central Oklahoma, East Central, Northeastern State, Southeastern Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman’s. South Division members are Abilene Christian, Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico, Midwestern State, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M.
