COMMERCE, Texas -- A&M-Commerce will once again serve as the host institution for the UIL Region II-3A volleyball tournament this weekend at the Field House. The regional semifinals will be held Friday, November 11, with the Region II-3A final being held Saturday, November 12.

Action gets underway Friday at 6 p.m. with the first regional semifinal, pitting Prosper against Longview Spring Hill. The Lady Eagles are the District 11-3A runners-up while the Lady Panthers captured the District 16-3A crown.

The second semifinal begins at 8 p.m., featuring two-time defending state champion Lucas Lovejoy against Paris North Lamar. The match will be a battle of district champions as the Leopards were the 11-3A champions while the Pantherettes claimed the 15-3A crown.

The semifinal winners will then return to the court at the Field House for the 2011 Region II-3A championship Saturday, November 12 at 1 p.m. The winner of that match will represent Region II at the state championship at Strahan Coliseum on the campus of Texas State University next weekend.

Ticket prices for the regional tournament are $8 for adults and $6 per student per day. There are no two-day passes for sale. The A&M-Commerce Field House is located at 1804 Lee Street on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce, directly east of Memorial Stadium. Parking at any of the lots around the Field House are free.
