2011 ERNEST HAWKINS GOLF TOURNAMENT IS A BIG SUCCESS

WOLFE CITY, Texas – The 2011 Ernest Hawkins Golf Tournament proved to be another success as golfers enjoyed a great day on the course, while benefitting the student-athletes from all 11 A&M-Commerce programs.
13 four-man teams competed in the tournament, which was held at the Webb Hill Country Club in Wolfe City. Despite temperatures creeping near 105 degrees, everyone was in high spirits for a competitive 18 holes of golf. Three student-athletes even competed on the afternoon as Taylor Fore, Marcus Fore and Yogi Gallegos of the football team were among the 52 participants.
As is custom, former Lion head coach Ernest Hawkins led off the day by giving a few words before the participants teed off. When all was said and done, Team Bounds captured first place, with Team Bledsoe coming in second and Team Fox in third.
Athletic Director Carlton Cooper and the rest of the athletic department staff would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2011 Ernest Hawkins Golf Tournament and are already looking forward to making 2012 the best yet.
