Harvey Martin Inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame
On Monday night, former Texas A&M University-Commerce standout Harvey Martin was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame as a m ember of the Class of 2009.
The former A&M-Commerce standout was inducted along with Bud Adams, Lance Berkman, Lawrence Elkins, Chuck Howley, Tommy Kramer, Kim Mulkey, Dan Reeves and Max Williams. Martin is the first former A&M-Commerce athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
To accept the honor on his behalf was his daughter, Chase, who thanked the countless individuals who had an impact on his life, including his athletic career.
The university continues its recognition of the alumnus with the Harvey Martin Classic each fall. More information about the annual event is available at www.harveymartinclassic.com(.)
