LIONS STUDENT-ATHLETES PARTICIPATE IN SUMMER GRADUATION

COMMERCE, Texas -- Congratulations to the nine Lions from Texas A&M University-Commerce who participated in the graduation ceremony this past weekend on August 13th.

The five student-athletes participating in the ceremony were Athletic Trainer Comella Draper, Football’s Blake Patton, Volleyball’s Rachael Shelton, Women’s Track and Field Makesha Brewer, and Men’s Track and Field Albert Sinegal. Each of these individuals accepted their bachelor’s degree with an honorary student-athlete sash courtesy of the A&M-Commerce athletic department.

The Lions who could not make it were Alonzo Menifield, Reginald McCarther, Patrick Moore, and Melissa DoRemus.

Congratulations to Head Football Coach Guy Morriss for completing his Masters in Education. This degree will be Coach Morriss’s second degree; his Bachelor’s was earned at Texas Christian University in Secondary Education in 1973.

"Im very excited about this graduating class because educating and graduating student-athletes is our number one goal here at A&M-Commerce", Athletic Director Carlton Cooper said. "Academic excellence and graduation is the true championship."
