DeUndrae Spraggins Scores 25 to Lead Texas A&M-Commerce in 74-64 Win Over Cameron

An 11-to-4 run midway through the second half and a 17-to-2 advantage in points off turnovers led visiting Texas A&M-Commerce to a 74-64 win over Cameron in Lawton, Oklahoma.

A&M-Commerce (10-8, 1-2 LSC North) senior DeUndrae Spraggins led three Lions in double digits with a game-high 25 points. Ronnie Morgan and Sammy Jackson, who scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, joined him.

The Lions forced 12 Cameron turnovers that translated into 17 points for A&M-Commerce. Also, in the win, the Lions raised their record to 8-2 when they outrebound their opponents and 10-1 when they score 70-or-more points.

Cameron (7-10, 2-2 LSC North) also had three players in double digits as Dave Smith led the Aggies with 22. Chad Allan and Mekaile Reed, who scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, joined him.

The host Aggies built a nine-point advantage on a lay up by Smith for a 21-12 lead with 8:17 to go in the first half. However, the Lions managed to score 13 of the final 19 points of the first 20 minutes, including a jumper by Jackson put the A&M-Commerce in front for the first time.

The game remained close over the final 20 minutes and after the third tie of the game at 44 with 9:46 to go, the Lions went on a decisive 11-to-4 run that included two 3 pointers by Spraggins and another by Dominique Taylor. Down the stretch, A&M-Commerce went a perfect 8-for-8 to seal the win from the free-throw line.

Next for the Lions is a trip to Ada, Oklahoma on Wednesday night to face East Central at 8 p.m.
