Preston Whitley Named LSC North Division Defensive Player of the Week

Texas A&M University-Commerce freshman Preston Whitley was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. 

Whitley and the Lions held Cameron to just 26.4% shooting from the field on Saturday. The lowest effort by an A&M-Commerce opponent since Midwestern State on January 29, 2004. Against Cameron, Whitley and the Lions outrebounded Cameron by 23. Against the Aggies, he had a team-best 11 rebounds. 

He is the second Lion to pick up the weekly honor in this first year of the award. 

The next game for Whitley is at the Lone Star Conference Tournament on Wednesday at 6 pm against Tarleton State in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
