Men's Basketball Adds Joshua Gordon and Jesse Jackson
The Texas A&M
University-Commerce men's basketball program coaching staff today
announced the signing of Joshua Gordon and
Jesse Jackson.
"We are very excited about Jesse, Joshua and this recruiting class
for the 2010-11 season. These young men will be great additions to
the core group of men we have returning," said head coach
Sam Walker.
Gordon, a 6-1 guard from Inglewood, California, started his
college career at West Los Angeles College, where he averaged 16.5
points, 4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. As a sophomore, he was
named the team's MVP and was recognized as one of the top 100
junior college players. He was a two-year-starter at Morningside
High School, where he was named second team all-state, all league
and averaged 17.8 points, 5.2 assists and 4 rebounds a game. He set
the school single-game steals record with 11.
Jackson, a 6-7 forward from Keller, Texas, has been a three-year
letterwinner and two-year all-state selection at Fort Worth Lake
Country Christian School. He was a member of the 2009-10 TAPPS 3A
state champion team as a senior and runner up as a junior. Jackson
was named to the state all-tournament team and picked up
all-district honors as a junior and as a senior.
Gordon and Jackson join the Lions' other three signees,
Austin Brown, Tyrone Carson and
Desmond King, all of who will suit up for the
2010-11 season.
