One of the newest additions to the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's basketball team - Justin Wilkerson - has already caught the attention of the Lone Star Conference media, coaches and sports information directors.
The Greenville, Texas and East Central transfer was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Preseason Player of the Year on Tuesday. Wilkerson transferred to A&M-Commerce for his senior season after spending the last two years at East Central and his first two years at Texas Tech.
Last year, Wilkerson made appearances in 28 games for the Tigers of East Central last season, averaging 11.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. His 9.8 rebounds per game led ECU and ranked third in the LSC. In North Division games, he averaged a double-double and led the league with 12.3 rebounds per game.
Wilkerson and the Lions as a team were picked to finish second as
they received two first place votes. UCO, who was picked to finish
first, received the other 18.
