Prior to A&M-Commerce: Named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Class 4A Academic All-State Football team...received honorable mention on the state's Associated Press' Class 4A all-state team...only player to receive All-District 25-4A honors on defense (defensive back) and offense (wide receiver)...his league-leading six interceptions earned him first team all-league honors...he was second on the team with 92 tackles with 48 solos and 44 assists; plus he caused three fumbles and recovered two...had three of the interceptions against Gonzales...also lettered four years in track and field, in addition to three letters in football.
