Courtney Edmond Named LSC North Division Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Senior safety Courtney Edmond became the ninth Texas A&M University-Commerce selection for Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors in 2008 on Monday afternoon.
Edmond, a transfer from Blinn Junior College and La Marque, Texas, wrapped up his A&M-Commerce career with a 10-tackle effort against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday en route to being named the LSC Co-North Division Defensive Player of the Week. He also forced a fumble and ran back an interception that set up the final touchdown for the Lions' 21-3 win over the Savage Storm.
He finished the 2008 season
second on the team with 65 tackles and three interceptions. Edmond
also had 12 pass deflections, nine pass breaks ups, three forced
fumbles and recovered another fumble.
