Ricky Hope Named Daktronics Second Team All-American

Texas A&M University-Commerce senior defensive lineman Ricky Hope set a school record with 19.5 tackles for loss for minus 107 yards in 2008 en route to being named Daktronics Second Team All-American on Tuesday.

The Poulan, Georgia native has earned multiple post-season honors for his efforts in the 2008 season. He led the Lone Star Conference with 10.5 sacks and six forced fumbles as well as being second in tackles for loss en route to LSC North Division Defensive Lineman of the Year and first team all-LSC North Division honors.

Nationally, Hope was tied for second in tackles for loss per game with 1.95 and tied for sixth in sacks per game with 1.05. He also earned Daktronics South Central First Team all-South Central Region honors before moving on to the national ballot.

This is the 16th year the Daktronics All-America team has been selected by a vote of sports information directors from NCAA Division II football playing members.  The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
