Sheppard selected to play in Cactus Bowl
Texas A&M University-Commerce
senior Darron Sheppard was selected on Saturday to
participate in the Cactus Bowl on January 9 at 6:35 pm in
Kingsville, Texas.
The Longview, Texas native was a two-year starter at center for
the Lions and a two-time all-Lone Star Conference North Division
selection for the A&M-Commerce football team.
The game brings together players on the NCAA Division II level
that inspired the game slogan "the best players you've never seen."
The bowl began in 1994 as the Snow Bowl before moving to its
current location in 2001 in Kingsville and was renamed the Cactus
Bowl.
Other former Lions that have participated in the game are Darrell
Bayer, Derrick Crawford, James Epps, J.D. Hearn, Corey Homer, Kevin
Mathis, Paul Simmons and Jared Williams.
