A&M-Commerce Releases 2010 Football Schedule
Texas A&M University-Commerce
released its 2010 football schedule on Monday that includes six
home games, including five at Memorial Stadium and another at the
Cotton Bowl in Dallas for the Harvey Martin Classic.
A&M-Commerce will begin the 2010 season with a 6 p.m. tilt
against Upper Iowa at Memorial Stadium on September 4th. The
matchup against the Peacocks from Fayette, Iowa will mark the first
time that the two schools have faced one another.
Next, the Lions will host Angelo State in the 2010 Harvey Martin
Classic at 5 p.m. at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas on Sept.
11th. This marks the third year of the annual event and
A&M-Commerce has an all-time mark of 7-1 in the Cotton
Bowl.
After the matchup against the Rams, the Lions will be on the road
for its two longest trips of the season, traveling to Texas
A&M-Kingsville (Sept. 18th at 7 p.m.) and Eastern New Mexico
(Sept. 25th at 7 p.m.). The 2010 season marks the first year that
the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico will be participating in the
realigned Lone Star Conference North Division.
After the ENMU contest, A&M-Commerce will host Southeastern
Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. on October 2nd at Memorial Stadium in
another rigorous LSC North Division contest. Next, the Lions will
return to the road for a 2 p.m. contest against Northeastern State
in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on Oct. 9th.
Following the NSU game, A&M-Commerce will host Tarleton State
for the first time since the 2006 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 16th
at 6 p.m. After the Texans come to town, the annual homecoming game
will be on Saturday, Oct. 23rd at 2 p.m., when the Lions host
Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The next game on the schedule for the Lions is a trip to Edmond,
Oklahoma to face Central Oklahoma at 2 p.m. on October 30th. The
regular season home portion of the schedule will conclude on
Saturday, November 6th at 6 p.m. when the Lions host East
Central.
The last game of the regular season will be against Lone Star
Conference newcomer, Incarnate Word in San Antonio on November 13th
at 2 p.m.
