A&M-Commerce Picked to Share Second Place in the LSC North in Preseason Poll

With three first-place votes and a squad that will be led by first year head coach Guy Morriss, the Texas A&M University-Commerce football team was picked to share second place with Southeastern Oklahoma State in the Lone Star Conference North Division as the Lone Star Conference preseason polls were announced on Thursday.

Central Oklahoma is the top choice in the North Division and Abilene Christian is favored in the South Division, according to the preseason poll that reflect the opinions of LSC head coaches and sports information directors, plus various media representatives from throughout the region.

The Bronchos received first-place votes on 12 of the 16 ballots cast by LSC coaches, sports information directors and various media representatives. A&M-Commerce and Southeastern finished tied for second, including three and one first-place votes, respectively. Next, Southwestern Oklahoma was third, East Central fourth and Northeastern State rounded out the poll.

The Lions will begin preparations for the 2009 season as the players will report back on Thursday, August 6th and the season will kickoff against Angelo State on Saturday, August 29th at 6 pm.
