A&M-Commerce Football Holds First Practice
First year head football coach
Guy Morriss and the Texas A&M
University-Commerce football team began its fall pre-season
practice on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. The Lions reported back
to Commerce on Thursday for the first of two days filled with
meetings before taking to the field on Saturday. A&M-Commerce
started the day with a walk-thru at Memorial Stadium as players and
coaches took what had been discussed in meetings and put on to the
field. Before the walk thru would be complete, the 102 players that
reported to camp were put through a conditioning test. After
concluding the morning walk thru, the team gathered for live action
that included special teams and the installation of plays and
schemes on both sides of the ball. Two hours later, the first day
of fall pre-season practice with on the field activities ended and
a return to Berry Hall, where the team and the coaches are staying
during pre-season camp. The day ended with a review of the walk
thru and the live action as well as the continued installation of
plays and strategies for the upcoming season.
