Stephen DeGrate Named LSC North Division Player of the Week

Texas A&M University-Commerce senior linebacker Stephen DeGrate (Dallas, Texas/Texarkana Liberty-Eylau HS) was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The starting middle linebacker on the Lions defense was involved in a team-high 11 tackles and forced two fumbles in the Lions' 21-7 loss to Angelo State on Saturday night. He also had a tackle for loss and recorded a game-high eight solo tackles. The Lions' defense held the Rams ground game to under 100 yards as they managed 91 yards on 39 carries for a 2.3 yard per carry average.

DeGrate and A&M-Commerce return to action on Saturday at 6 pm against Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, Louisiana. All the action can be heard live on KETR (www.ketr.org).
