Ahmed Abo-Mahmood Named Lone Star Conference North Division Special Teams Player of the Week

Texas A&M University-Commerce freshman kicker Ahmed Abo-Mahmood was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

The Sherman, Texas native made four extra points and a 38-yard field goal that proved to be the difference as the Lions’ defeated East Central, 31-28. His 38-yard field goal tied a season-long for the freshman kicker. For the season, he has been perfect 25-for-25 on extra points and 5-for-7 on field goals.

Abo-Mahomood and the A&M-Commerce football team are currently 3-5 on the season and tied for first in the Lone Star Conference North. The Lions are idle this week before closing out the season with contests against Southeastern Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
