Beyond Sports College Network Athletes of the Week - Sept. 3
COMMERCE, Texas -- A&M-Commerce senior linebacker Danny Mason has been selected as a Beyond Sports College Network National Player of the Week, announced Monday. Mason was one of two Division II linebackers to earn the nod, being joined by Concordia's Jake Lilly.
Mason made his presence felt all night against Southeastern Oklahoma State, setting a new career-best with 16 tackles, nine of which were solo, along with a pair of tackles for loss and a sack. His performance ranks him first in the Lone Star Conference in tackles per game and he is tied for third nationally in the same category as Mason looks to become just the eighth linebacker in program history to be a two-time first-team All-LSC selection.
