FOOTBALL HOLDING OPEN TRYOUTS FOR CURRENT A&M-COMMERCE STUDENTS

COMMERCE, Texas -- A&M-Commerce football will be holding open tryouts for current A&M-Commerce students on Thursday, February 21st, giving current students an opportunity to suit up for their Lions beginning this spring.

In order to tryout for an athletic team at Texas A&M University-Commerce, the prospective student-athlete must have completed these four requirements ahead of time with verification brought with them to the scheduled tryout:

• A physical from a licensed physician clearing them for athletic participation within the last six months.

• A sickle-cell solubility test results on file or the corresponding waiver form available here.

• The NCAA Division II Drug Testing Consent form available here.

• Show proof of good academic standing and enrollment as a full-time student at A&M-Commerce. Verification can be shown by presenting a copy of their current class schedule.

Please turn in drug testing consent form, sickle-cell results or waiver, physical proof and copy of current class schedule to the football offices, located in Whitley Gymnasium, before Thursday, February 21st. Those who do not provide all four required prerequisites will not be allowed to participate in the tryouts.

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Stadium with the tryouts getting underway at 12:30 p.m. Participants will need to bring with them both cleats and flats. For questions regarding the tryout, please e-mail head coach Colby Carthel.
