Prospective Student-Athlete Information - Football

We are excited about your interest in Texas A&M University-Commerce and Lions football. Most recently, A&M-Commerce won the 2009 Lone Star Conference North Division and eight players were selected first team all-LSC North Division under first year head coach Guy Morriss. For the last two years, Texas A&M University-Commerce has hosted one of its football games at the prestigious Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas for the Harvey Martin Classic.

Football Accomplishments in 2009

• Head Coach Guy Morriss was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Coach of the Year.

• R.J. Brisbon was named for the second-straight year as the Lone Star Conference North Division Offensive Lineman of the Year.

• William Green was named the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Lineman of the Year. The Lions have won this honor for three-straight years.

• RB Marcus Graham, OL R.J. Brisbon, OL David Sudderth and K Ahmed Abo-Mahmood were named first team all-Lone Star Conference North Division Offense.

• DT William Green, ILB Cory Whitfield, DB Israel Hughes and S Alex Contreras were named first team all-Lone Star Conference North Division Defense.

• QB Adam Farkes, TE Reid Herchenbach and LB Stephen DeGrate were named honorable mention all-Lone Star Conference.

• Junior Blake Patton and sophomore T.J. Nielsen were named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team.

Coaches must mail responses to freshmen and sophomores, per NCAA rules. You can call any A&M-Commerce coach, but they cannot return your phone call unless you are a senior in high school.
