Lions Stand Tied for 10th at NSU Golf Classic Through Opening Round

Three members of the Texas A&M
University-Commerce men's golf team shot a 76 in Monday's first
round of the 10th Annual NSU Golf Classic in Broken Arrow,
Oklahoma.
Senior Blake Worden, junior Danny
Jun and sophomore Dustin Gideon each
posted a 4-over par 76 in Monday's first round. The three are tied
along with nine others in a tie for 25th. As a team, the Lions shot
a 305 and tied for 10th along with LSC member Southeastern Oklahoma
State.
Washburn University leads the 15-team field by three strokes with a
293 and the Ichabods are led by individual co-leader Matt Ewald,
who shot a 2-under 70. He is joined in the individual lead by Matt
Vela of St. Mary's.
A&M-Commerce senior Pinkey Hartline is tied
for 37th with a 5-over par 77 and junior Eric
Westerman is tied for 71st after posting an 13-over par
85. Individually, junior Brian Pearce is tied for
25th along with Worden, Jun and Gideon after posting a 4-over over
par 76.
Monday's second round was suspended due to darkness and will be
completed prior to another 18 holes to complete the tournament at
the Emerald Falls Golf Club.
