Lions Land Two in Top 10 En Route to Fifth-Place Finish at Texoma Championship

Worden was in the top 10 for the 12th time in his career
and junior Eric Westerman posted the second top 10
finish of his career to lead the Texas A&M University-Commerce
men’s golf team to a fifth place finish at the Texoma
Championship on Tuesday.
Worden finished tied for fourth with a 54-hole total of 5-over 222
(72-72-78) and Westerman tied for seventh with a 225 (75-73-77).
Fergal Rafferty of Sam Houston State took home individual honors
with a 3-under 213 (71-69-73) for a three-stroke victory over
runner up Travis Kluttts of Midwestern State, who shot a 216
(72-72-72).
Led by Rafferty, Sam Houston State took home the team title by 24
strokes with an 880 (292-285-303) over second place Midwestern
State, who posted a 904 (309-292-303). The race between second and
fifth place was 10 shots as the Lions posted a 914 (305-297-312).
A&M-Commerce was five shots away from fourth, nine away from
third and 10 from runner up honors.
Senior Pinkey Hartline was tied for 21st after
posting his third-straight 77 and 54-hole total of 231 (77-77-77),
junior Danny Jun was tied for 29th with a 236
(81-75-80) and sophomore Dustin Gideon was 43rd
with a 249 (83-82-84).
