Danny Jun Collects GCAA All-America Scholar Honor

Texas A&M University-Commerce senior men’s golfer Danny Jun was named to the 2010 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars Team, which was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) recently. 

Jun is among 55 Division II players to earn this prestigious honor. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Earlier this year, Jun was named the Texas A&M University-Commerce Lone Star Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2009-10. As a senior, Jun was among the top players in the region, averaging 75.05 in 22 rounds of action. He posted five finishes in the top 25 during his senior season.
