Men's Golf in 17th Following Opening Round of The Territory Classic

The Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golf team is in 17th place after Monday's opening round of The Territory Classic in Duncan, Oklahoma. 

A&M-Commerce shot an opening round 317 and trail by 27 strokes first round leader St. Edward's. Individual leader Santiago Quintero, who shot a two-under 70, leads the nationally ranked Hilltoppers. 

Leading the Lions is senior Danny Jun, who is tied for 17th after posting a two-over 74. Jun was one of the top players in the field with four birdies in his opening round. 

 Just one stroke behind Jun is junior teammate Dustin Gideon, who shot a 75 and tied for 21st and junior Eric Westerman is tied for 80th with an 84.

Making his A&M-Commerce debut, freshman Tyler Duffy from Lone Oak is tied for 87th with an 86 and fellow newcomer T.J. McColl is tied for 90th after posting a 90. 

The field will return to the course for Tuesday's final round with the shotgun start getting underway at 8:30 am.
