Lions Share Eighth-Place Honors at Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational
The Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s golf team shared eighth-place honors with East Central at the Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational in San Antonio.
Host St. Mary’s won the team title by 18 strokes with a 54-hole team total of 866 (287-288-291). Donald Constable of Texas, who was playing as an individual, won the individual title with a 54-hole total of seven under 209 (68-73-68).
The Lions were led by senior Danny Jun, who tied for 14th, en route to his second top 20 finish of the fall as he shot a 220 (73-69-78). Junior Dustin Gideon tied for 43rd with a 230 (71-77-82), freshman Tyler Duffy tied for 47th with a 231 (81-73-77), senior Eric Westerman posted a 236 (87-75-74) and freshman Darren Whitehouse shot a 238 (80-80-78) and tied for 72nd.
A&M-Commerce will play in its final tournament of the fall when they travel to the SOSU Choctaw Nation Championship, Oct. 4-6 in Kingston, Oklahoma.
