A&M-Commerce in Eighth After Opening Day of Texoma Championship
Senior Eric Westerman shot a season-best 71 during the second round to put the Lions in eighth place after the first day of the Texoma Championship.
Westerman started the day with an 83 for a 54-hole total of 154 and is currently tied for 20th. He finished the day with six birdies, as did teammate Darren Whitehouse.
Northwood leads the ten-team field with a 15-stroke advantage over LSC member Cameron after posting a 581. They also have the top two performers in Lucas Bogdan and J.D. Wyner, who shot eight and five under, respectively.
Whitehouse is tied for 34th after posting a 158 (82-76) and leads the field with his three under par play on par 3 holes. Three Lions - Dustin Gideon, Tyler Duffy and T.J. McColl – are tied for 42nd after posting a 10. Duffy managed to record 22 pars on the first 36 holes that ranks tied for fifth most in the field.
Tuesday’s
final round starts at 8 a.m. with the first Lions to tee off at
8:45 a.m.
