Ranard Adkinson is in his second season as an assistant coach for the A&M-Commerce men's and women's track and field teams, overseeing the Lion jumpers.

Adkinson comes to A&M-Commerce from Cal State University-Los Angeles, where he spent the past year aiding in the development of the sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers for the Golden Eagles. While coaching at CSULA, Adkinson over saw 2 different national championship winners in Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Prior to CSULA, Adkinson mentored several individual standouts at Southwest Baptist University, including the school’s first-ever male and female conference champions and national qualifiers. Under Adkinson, 15 different schools records were set, and four individual won conference championships.

Adkinson has not only been a stand out coach, but he also had a stellar career while at Long Island University. He was a three-time Northeast Conference Champion as a member of the sprint team. He set four school records and a conference record while playing for the Blackbirds.

Adkinson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts from Long Island University in 2004, and his Master’s degree in Education from Southwest Baptist University in 2007.
