MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The men's and women's cross country teams took on some tough competition from both Division 1 and Division 2 levels, as well as mother nature, at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic.

The race, which was originally schedule to run arou thend 6 p.m., had to deal with severe weather in the area, courtesy of the remnants of Hurricane Isaac. When the rain and lightning settled enough to begin the race, the women took to the course around 11 p.m. with the men following afterwards.

The Lion men finished 10th out of 21 teams, paced by Dorian McCradic's 20th place finish with a time of 21:37.30. Lion teammates Everett Wilder, Ross Hicks, Tyler Hemenway, Fredrick Kipsang and Alex Kimp all recorded top-90 finishes as well. Wilder finished 69th with a time of 22:48.82, followed by Hicks crossing with a time of 23:02.07, good enough for 79^th overall. Hemenway had an 86th place finish with a time of 23:12.20, while two spots after him were back-to-back Lions with Kipsang crossing in 88th with a time of 23:15.21 and Kimp in 89th, recording a 23:15.54 showing.

The women finished in 15th place out 21 teams. Leading the charge for the Lions was Caroine Cotsakis with a time of 21:12.77, good enough for 73rd place. Close behind Cotsakis was Tori Lenz-Selvera recording a time of 21:15.98 in 77th place. Jenny Speer recorded a time of 22:27.93 crossing the line in 115th, Katia Romero finished in 122nd with a time of 22:41.53. Also running for the Lions were Kelli Hardenbrook (23:14.03), Brooke Farris (23:15.25), Julicla Ezquirel (23:33.34), Kendall Christmas (23:50.66) and Mackenzie Myers (23:50.97).

The Lions will be back out on the course on Saturday, September 8th when they travel to Lawton, Oklahoma for the Cameron Aggie Showdown.
