LION MEN CHECK IN AT 10TH IN LATEST USTFCCCA REGIONAL RANKINGS

COMMERCE, Texas -- The latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released it's latest regional rankings as the A&M-Commerce men's team checks in at 10th in the South Central Region.

The Lions are one of four Lone Star Conference teams to crack the top-10, trailing Eastern New Mexico (fifth), West Texas A&M (seventh) and Angelo State (ninth). It marks the first time this season that A&M-Commerce has appeared in the regional rankings as the top-six teams receive an automatic bid into the 2012 NCAA Track and Field Championships in Joplin, Mo.

A&M-Commerce is coming off an impressive weekend at the Southern Arkansas Lois Davis Invitational, capturing both the team and individual titles. The Lion men garnered 19 points in the 8K race, notching seven of the top eight finishers, led by Dorian McCradic's time of 24:37, capturing the individual title. Everett Wilder placed third with a time of 25:52, followed by Elias Garza (25:59), Fredrick Kipsang (26:08) and Luis Romero (26:08) as the five that generated points for A&M-Commerce.

The Lions now set their sights on the 2012 Lone Star Conference Championships, taking place Saturday, October 20th in Lawton, Okla. A&M-Commerce is looking to build on last season's third-place finish, which tied for the best showing in program history.
