A&M-Commerce Women's Basketball Picked to Finish Second

The Texas A&M
University-Commerce women’s basketball team was picked to
finish second in the annual Lone Star Conference women's basketball
preseason poll announced on Wednesday in Bartlesville,
Oklahoma.
The women received four first-place votes in the pre-season poll
and defending North Division champion Central Oklahoma was picked
to win the league.
A&M-Commerce returns five letterwinners in 2008-09, including
senior All-American Britney Jordan. The Lions will
begin the season at home on November 15 against Southern Arkansas
in the A&M-Commerce Field House at 2 p.m.
The remainder of the poll in the North Division behind the Bronchos
and the Lions were Northeastern State, Southwestern Oklahoma State,
Southeastern Oklahoma State, Texas Woman’s, East Central and
Cameron. On the South Division side, West Texas A&M was picked
to repeat in 2008-09. Behind the Lady Buffs were Abilene Christian,
Angelo State, Tarleton State, Midwestern State, Texas
A&M-Kingsville and Eastern New Mexico.
