Southeastern Oklahoma State Rallies to Defeat Host Texas A&M University-Commerce, 85-75

Southeastern Oklahoma State overcame a 14-point deficit and went on a 15-0 run midway through the second half to defeat host Texas A&M University-Commerce, 85-75, on Saturday afternoon at The Field House.

Texas A&M University-Commerce (4-18, 1-9 LSC North) built a 15-2 advantage in the opening 5:57 of the game. 12 of the 15 points for the Lions came in the point and six came from junior Mattilyn McIntyre.

Southeastern Oklahoma State (17-6, 7-3 LSC North) had four players in double figures, including a double double from Elizabeth Dean, who scored 16 points and had a game-high 11 rebounds. Destiny Brown, who had a team-high 17, joined her in double figures and Christin Nichols and Jessica Hesse scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.

McIntyre led the Lions with a game-high 26 points and senior Ashley Murphy added 18 in the loss.

A&M-Commerce held the lead for the entire first half as they shot a season-best 52.8% in the first 20 minutes for a 46-37 halftime lead. The 46 points are the most by the Lions in an opening 20 minutes.

After a 3 pointer by McIntyre put the host Lions ahead 59-51 with 13:08 left in the game, Southeastern Oklahoma State retaliated with 15 unanswered points. In the run, 10 of the 15 points came in the paint for the visitors.

SOSU remained in front for the remainder of the game and completed the come-from-behind win making eight of nine free throws for the win.

The Lions are back in action on Wednesday night as they travel to Edmond, Oklahoma to take on Central Oklahoma at 6 p.m.
