Lions Fall to Texas Woman's, 90-80
Despite four players in double figures for a second-straight game, the Texas A&M University-Commerce women’s basketball team dropped a 90-80 decision to Texas Woman’s on Saturday afternoon.
As part of the festivities at the game, A&M-Commerce held its WBCA Pink Zone game that featured a pre-game reception and halftime recognition of local breast cancer survivors – Martha Parrish from Commerce, Patsy Bolton and Barbara Romack from Sulphur Springs, Hershel Jackson and Carolyn Lockett from Paris. Also as part of the festivities, the officiating crew used pink whistles and the Lions’ women’s basketball team wore pink shoelaces.
Texas Woman’s (13-11, 7-5 LSC North) junior Kayla Weaver had a double double with a game-high 35 points and 10 rebounds. Jessica Durr, who added 15, Megan Hasham and Jessica Hanna scored 14 and 12 points, respectively to join her in double figures.

The Lions scored five-straight points to cut the deficit to four, 77-73, with 3:20 remaining. However that would be as close as A&M-Commerce would get for the remainder of the contest.
