LIONS NON-CONFERENCE WOES CONTINUE AGAINST OUACHITA BAPTIST, 89-67

Freshman guard Devin Oliver's break out night couldn't stop the Lady Tigers trip to the Field house as the Lion's fall 67-89. Oliver scored a team high of 17, and was followed by starting freshman guard Ashlee Johnson who dropped 14 points in her first collegiate start for the Lions. This is the third non-conference game that the Lions have dropped this season moving their record to 0-3.  

The Lions had to fight off a foul plagued first half battling back from 14 fouls. A&M-Commerce was fighting from the rear the entire game, after falling behind 45 to 35 at the end of the first period. A&M-Commerce had a tough time scoring off the bench, who only chipped in 18 points. The Lady Tigers were impressive in the paint outscoring the Lions 20-8 in the first period. The biggest problem the Lions faced tonight was turn overs (30), which Ouachita Baptist advanced a total of 35 total points off of turn overs.

Devin Oliver had a break out game dropping a career high of 12 points in the first period of the game. Oliver would finish the game out with a team high of 17 points. Oliver went 3-3 on three pointers and also was 100% on her 2 free throws. Bianca Stevenson had an remarkable night coming off the bench dropping 10 points and drawing 5 fouls. Stevenson knocked down 8 of her 10 free throw shots.

The Lions just didn't have an answer for stopping A'Laeshia Adams, who scored 16 points on the Lions. Adams not only was able to score on the Lions, but also had 5 assists and 4 steals on the evening.

A&M-Commerce will have another chance for a non-conference win against Central State this Saturday at 2:00 PM.  The Lady Lions will then have their first double header of the season facing off with Midwestern State on Nov. 30th at 6:00 PM, and then the Men's team is set to play at 8:00 PM right after the Women's game ends.
