LIONS ROAD TRIP WOES CONTINUE AGAINST THE AGGIES OF CAMERON, 68-52

The Lions came up short on their second road game of the season against Cameron University, 68-52. The Lions fell behind early in the game and just never seemed to be able to catch up. Sophomore guard Danielle Dixon kept the Lions in the game by scoring a team high of 15 points, but it just wasn't enough.

Freshman forward La'Tisha Hearne is showing improvement having another good game for the Lions scoring 9 points and snagging 6 rebounds The Lions were out rebounded for only the second time this season losing the battle of the board 39 to 32. The Lions offense was sluggish today only hitting 22 of their 64 shots (34.4%). A&M-Commerce did however show promise by having a season low on turn overs (14).  

The Aggies leader Julie Paunovic caused trouble for the Lions all afternoon, scoring 19 points and notching 11 rebounds for Cameron. The Aggies came out of the gate scoring and immediately took the lead, and did not give the Lions a chance to catch up. Abigail-Leaupepe-Tele scored a jumper with 7 minutes left in the second period getting the Lions within 8 points for their last final push to catch up.  Although, the Aggies did not let up and continued to push forward bringing the game to an 18 point gap with 1:27 left on the clock.

 The Lions will make their next stop in San Antonio, Texas to face the Cardinals of University of Incarnate Word. The Lions will take on the Cardinals who are 5-1 on Wednesday, December 7th at 5:30 PM. The Lions will then finish up their road trip in Denton, Texas against Texas Woman's University on Tuesday, December 13th.
