The Lions will first meet with the Mustangs of Midwestern State at the D.L Ligon Coliseum, where the Mustangs have proved to be a tough team to beat since they are 8-1 at home this season. The Mustangs have already handed the Lions a tough loss earlier this season, 81-44. The Cameron Aggies will be just a big wall too climb as well, posting an 12-4 record, and coming off a narrow loss to the Mustangs 65-58. The Aggies defeated the Lions once this season 68-52 after a back and forth battle all evening back on December 3rd.

Harris Dominating for the Lions with Seven Double-Doubles:
Sophomore Breanna Harris has been a key contributor throughout the season for A&M-Commerce, ranking second on the team in points per game (11.2) while leading the Lions in rebounds per game (9.2). Harris earned her first Double-double against Central Ohio State (Nov. 26) when she scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and never looked back. She notched double-doubles against Incarnate Word (Dec. 7) and at Texas Woman's (Dec. 13), against Newman State (Dec. 29), Eastern New Mexico (Jan. 7), and when the Lion's hosted Angelo State (Jan. 14). Harris recently broke her career high in points (17), when she scored 20 points and snagged 10 rebounds in her seventh double-double against the undefeated Tarleton TexAnns on (Jan. 18.)
Stevenson Leading the Lions from the Bench:
Sophomore Bianca Stevenson has been on a hot streak for the Lions knocking down 18-25 shots, scoring 38 points in the last 5 games. During her 5 game streak she played a season high of 27 minutes and notched her season high of 17 points and fell one rebound short of a double-double against Abilene Christian (Jan. 11). Stevenson has not only been hitting shots for the Lions, she has also been dominating the boards grabbing 33 rebounds and averaging 6.6 rebounds per game in the last 5 contests.
Looking Ahead
The Lions will be remaining home and welcome the Cardinals of Incarnate Word on Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 PM. The Lions already faced off with the Cardinals earlier this season at the McDermott Center and suffered a rough 79-49 loss back on December 7th. The Lions will then have back-to-back battles with Texas A&M-Kingsville starting at the Hampton Inn Court in Kingsville, Texas on Saturday February 4th at 1:00 PM. The Javelinas will then turn around and come up to the Field House to meet the Lions on Monday, February 6th at 6:00 PM. The Javelinas are the only team that the Lions have yet to meet in conference play this season.
