The Week That Was
A&M-Commerce opened up the 2013 calendar season on a positive note, earning a pair of victories over Lone Star Conference foes Incarnate Word and Texas A&M-Kingsville. Against the Cardinals, A&M-Commerce rallied from a seven-point deficit midway through the second half, outscoring Incarnate Word 22-6 over the final 10 minutes to play to earn the 60-51 win. Danielle Dixon found her scoring touch, knocking down 18 points with Amber Carver (14 pts., 11 reb.) and La'Tisha Hearne (11 pts., 10 reb.) each finishing with double-doubles. At A&M-Kingsville, the Lions dug themselves a 13-point deficit in the first half, but once again rallied down the stretch to defeat the Javelinas 63-58. Breanna Harris and Aubree Butts led the way with a pair of double-doubles as Harris finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds while Butts recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds.

A&M-Commerce Snaps Road Losing Skid
The 63-58 victory at A&M-Kingsville was not just a big victory for A&M-Commerce in the Lone Star Conference standings, but ended a streak the Lions are happy to get rid of. The victory was the first road win for A&M-Commerce since a 68-67 win at Eastern New Mexico in Portales in 2009, a string of 37 road games. It also snapped a two-game losing skid to the Javelinas as the Lions improved to 30-28 all-time against their rivals from Kingsville.

Harris leads the way with four double-doubles on the year while Carver has accomplished the feat three times in 2012-13
