Opening Tip: The Lions travel to Denton to start the second half of conference against the Pioneers of Texas Woman's on Wednesday and travel to Stephenville to face Tarleton State on Saturday. A&M-Commerce will look to stay clear of the log jam behind them in the standings from 7th-11th with a victory over Texas Woman's. Currently the Lions hold the sixth seed in the conference tournament. The top eight advance to the tournament in March at the Allen Events Center.

Lions on the Web: Stay up to date with every Lion basket this week. Wednesday and Saturday games against the Pioneers and TexAnns will be broadcast live on KETR 88.9 FM with Charlie Chitwood on the call, while also streaming live online at KETR.org. The game Wednesday against Texas Woman's will be streamed on TWUathletics.com and the Saturday against Tarleton State will be streamed live at Tarletonsports.com, with live stats of both games available on both sites. Series Score: The Lions have a all-time record of 28-29 all-time against the Pioneers and is looking to sweep Texas Woman's for the first time since the 2008-09 season. A&M-Commerce took the first meeting 63-52 back in November in Commerce. After Saturday's win, the TexAnns have won five in a row against the Lions and have not lost to A&M-C since the 2008-09 season. Before that the TexAnns had dropped four in a row to the Lions.

The Pioneers are currently 1/2 game behind the Lions in the conference standings and are tied for seventh with Anglo State at 4-7. Last week the Pioneers almost beat Tarleton State dropping a 71-69 game at home. Toree Mason is 17th in the LSC in scoring and Tabbatha Thurmond is 24th in LSC in scoring to help pace the Pioneer attack. Thurmond is also in the top 15 in rebounding and top five in field goal percentage. Ria Pateraki is 11th in rebounding at 6.3 boards per game. Rebekah Cluly is seventh in assists per game at 3.1. As a team Texas Woman's ranks fifth in scoring defense among LSC teams allowing only 61.4 points per game.

Tarleton State has won two straight after going 2-2 in their previous four games. The two losses are to Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas and at home to West Texas two weeks ago. The TexAnns are currently tied for first in the LSC standings. Kiara Wright is currently first in the LSC in scoring and rebounding. She is currently in the top 5 in all of NCAA Division II in terms of rebounding. Shanae Lowrance and Wright are currently first and second in the LSC in terms of field goal percentage. Other TexAnns among conference leaders; Peyton Adamson leading the LSC in free throw percentage at 89%, Adamson also leads in 3PT percentage at 43.8%, Morgan Ashmore is tied for first in assists at 3.6 per game. Anderson is in the Top 15 in the country in free throw percentage with that 89% clip and Top 20 in terms of 3PT percentage.

Harris among LSC leaders: A&M-Commerce junior forward currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring, 14.5 ppg, and third in rebounding with 10.1 rebounds per game. She also leads the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 5.3.

Double Figures: With her 15 point performance against Tarleton State on Saturday afternoon Breanna Harris has now scored in double figures in 12 games so far this season including six straight games in double figures.

Master Thieves: The A&M-Commerce Lions rank currently third  in the conference as a team in terms of steals with 9.6 per game. This is without a single player ranking in Top 15 in steals individually. 

Big on the Boards: So far this season the Lions are the best rebounding team in the conference averaging 42.3 rebounds per game. Those 42.4 rebounds lead to a +2.5 rebounding margin per game, which puts them fifth in the LSC. 

Turnover Margin: The Lions are currently fifth in the LSC with 1.64 turnover ratio. The Lions have had an even or positive ratio in each of their last three of their last four games against Cameron, West Texas A&M, Eastern New Mexico and Tarleton State.

Three-Point Struggles: This season the Lions have struggled shooting this season especially from behind the three point line. A&M-C is currently last in 3PT percentage per game at just over 20% on the season.   

Briscoe's Passing: Over the last four games Kourtney Briscoe is averaging 3.75 assists per game and adding some scoring, 5.3 points over that span.

Not So Charity Stripe: The Lions are currently last in the conference in free throw percentage as a team, shooting 57.1 percent from the line. Kourtney Briscoe leads the team shooting 74% from the line. 

Career High: Junior forward Breanna Harris set a new career high in steals with three against Tarleton State last Saturday. Harris also set a new season high in assists with two in the same game.

Who is Next: The Lions return home to face Abilene Christian at the Field House on Wednesday February sixth and travel to Angelo State on Saturday February ninth. Game time on Tuesday is set for 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. in Stephenville.
