A&M-COMMERCE LION DANCE TEAM INFORMATION

ABOUT THE TEAM:  The Lion Dance Team is in its inaugural season as the new team under the leadership of Lion Athletics.  Founded on April 21, 2011, the team brings with it spirit and dance entertainment at men’s and women’s home basketball games, select football and LSC conference games, and events that support the University.  The 11 members of the Lion Dance Team are under the direction of Head Dance Coach, Ashley Rocke.

WHAT IT TAKES: The Lion Dance Team comes second only to academics and Dancers put in about 10 hours per week on practice, appearances and games.  Texas A&M University- Commerce is an exemplary academic institution, and our members traditionally are able to excel at both school and practice.   We even have current members who are in the Honors College and maintain a high standard for themselves academically.

Tryout season for the 2013-14 Lion Dance Team will begin in late March with 6 prep classes and the tryout day on Saturday, April 13 from 9:00am – 2:00pm
