A&M-Commerce Finishes Tied for 4th at 2008 Broncho Masters

Texas A&M University-Commerce
senior Jamie Gililland posted the second top-10
finish of her career with a tied for eighth-place finish at the
2008 Broncho Masters on Tuesday.
The Red Oak, Texas native shot a 36-hole total of 160 (77-83), nine
strokes behind individual champion, Emily Leahey of Central
Oklahoma. Leahey posted a 7-over 151 (73-78) to edge out a pair of
St. Edward's teammates, Dina O'Brien and Kirby Baker by two
strokes.
As a team, the Lions shared fourth-place honors with Angelo State
with a 663 (329-334). Led by the play of O'Brien and Baker, the
Hilltoppers took home the team title by 13 strokes with a 629
(308-321) over runner up Central Oklahoma (642).
Junior Heather Pantalion was in the top 25 for
the ninth time in her career and second time in the fall with a tie
for 24th-place finish. The Pflugerville, Texas native shot a
36-hole total of 169 (81-88). A stroke behind her was senior
Ali Tanner, who tied for 26th after shooting her
best round of the fall on Tuesday with an 81 and 36-hole total of
170 (89-81). Sophomore Kathleen May tied for 35th
with a 174 (92-82) and sophomore Megan Benites
shared 49th place honors with a 182 (82-100).
The Lions have one more remaining tournament in the fall at the
Oklahoma Invitational at The Territory Golf and Country Club,
hosted by Cameron University.
