Women's Golf Adds Chantry McMahan and Katelin Walker
Texas A&M University-Commerce women’s golf coach Louie Bledsoe announced today the signing of Chantry McMahan and Katelin Walker.
McMahan, who hails from Kaufman, Texas, has been a four-year letterwinner at Kaufman High School. She enters her senior season having been a three-time team MVP and district champion. After a runner up finish at the regional tournament as a freshman and sophomore, she was victorious as a junior.
McMahan went on to place third at the state tournament as a freshman and junior and fifth as a sophomore. She was recognized as the player of the year at the North Texas Professional Golf Association at the Mansfield Tournament in 2008.
Walker, who is from Plano, Texas, is a four-year letterwinner at Plano West Senior High School, voted the 2009 Most Improved and the 2010 Team Captain. Entering her senior season, Walker has several top 10 finishes including a first-place at the 2008 Rowlett Invitational. Walker is a two-time regional team qualifier, and as a 5A state team qualifier, she helped the team to a third-place finish, as a sophomore.
She finished third in each of the season ending 2009 Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) Ewing Automotive Metro Championship and the Ewing Automotive Junior Tour Championship, resulting in a fourth-place finish in the Player of the Year - Masters Division. She also won the Championship Division of the 2009 Southwest Junior Open Championship.
