Lions Finish Fifth at the ECU/Oak Hills Women's Collegiate Invitational Golf Tournament

Central University/Oak Hills Women's Collegiate Invitational Golf
Tournament to just one round on Tuesday. The Texas A&M
University-Commerce women’s golf team finished fifth among
the 12-team field.
Lone Star Conference member Northeastern State won the team title
by six strokes over Redlands Community College with a 320 and
placing its top four within the top nine. Kaitlin Higginbotham won
the individual title by two strokes with a two-over par 74.
A&M-Commerce finished its first tournament of the spring with a
351 just a stroke out of fourth-place honors that went to Henderson
State.
Senior Heather Pantalion (pictured) led
the Lions with an 86 and tied for 13th overall. Teammate junior
Kathleen May, who was among the top players in the
field with her even par play on par 3 holes, tied for 19th with an
87. Junior Megan Benites tied for 22nd with an 88
and sophomore Malonie Oats tied for 29th with a
90. To round out the A&M-Commerce lineup, junior
Mallory Kempf was tied for 55th with a 99.
The Lions are back in action on Monday as they host the Pepsi/Lion
Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Resort & Spa in Pottsboro,
Texas.
