Heather Pantalion Leads A&M-Commerce After First Day of Grand Canyon Women's Invitational

senior Heather Pantalion is tied for sixth overall
after shooting an opening round 78 to lead the Lions’
women’s golf team in Monday’s first round of the Grand
Canyon Women’s Invitational in Goodyear, Arizona.
Pantalion and the Lions are in 14th place after the first round,
shooting a 344. Lone Star Conference member Tarleton State is the
leader after posting a 298 and individual leader Carla Cooper, who
shot a six-under 66, leads the TexAnns.
The Pflugerville, Texas native was among one of the top players in
the field as she shot three-over par on par 4 scoring.
For A&M-Commerce, junior Megan Benites is tied
for 61st after posting an 81, juniors Mallory
Kempf and Kathleen May are tied for 66th
with an 89 and sophomore Malonie Oats is tied for
73rd after shooting a 92.
The Lions will begin its final round on Tuesday at 9:20 a.m. with
Oats teeing off at No. 10.
