Lions Begin Play at Cheddar's UCO Classic

In Monday’s opening round of the Cheddar’s UCO Classic, the Texas A&M University-Commerce women’s golf team is in 14th place after Monday’s opening round of the Cheddar’s UCO Classic.

Sophomore Malonie Oats leads the Lions with an opening round 79 and is tied for 35th. Junior teammates Mallory Kempf and Megan Benites are tied for 53rd after shooting an 81. Senior Heather Pantalion is in a tie for 62nd after posting an 82. Rounding out the Lions’ lineup, junior Kathleen May recorded an 84 and is tied for 75th. As an individual, senior Noelle Garcia shot a 91 and is tied for 98th.

St. Edward’s leads the 18-team field after posting a 297 for a three-stroke advantage over host UCO. A pair of Hilltoppers’ lead the individual race as Emily Kvinta and Kirby Baker after shooting a 1-over par 70.

Tuesday’s final round will get underway at 8:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
